Earlier this year when I was working in an auto shop, I was doing the oil change on a customer's truck. IIRC, it was a newer Toyota truck, maybe a 4runner. Anyway, I pop the little door that lets me slide the air filter out, check it, and it wont go back in. Pull it out to see what I am hitting and find his airbox is full of dog food. I disassemble it further and find that he had about a rat sized opening in the inlet tube, then about 95% of the airbox was dog food. I told him about it and he mentioned that he had noticed that the truck had a lot less power lately and he had wondered why.
We found a dead rat in a GMCs airbox about a week after.
