Dang... i hate having money to spend... Is this one a touch screen? http://www.mp3playerstore.com/stuff_you_need/special/IN-720.htmIf it is... im going to cry, cause i could build my system for 600ish, or convince my dad to let me take his linuixtivo box apart. Then i could have all of my songs and movies, and have a slot feeding dvd plaer... im getting all excited

I don't think it's a touch screen... but you can buy a touch screen kit for it and add it later. Both of those would cost the same as what I have, but you'd already have the DIN housing and make it look better.
EDIT... actually a little cheaper I think... the DigitalWW site has free shipping within the US; the Mp3 Player Store has $9.99 shipping to US/Canada.
I like to EDIT: That one you're looking at on MP3 Player Store has a brightness of 180 cm/m² (nits), where mine is 400 cm/m².
It appears the Panasonic EDTCB18QCF LCD panel is 280 cm/m²; the Hitachi TX18D11VM1CAA LCD panel is 400 cm/m². The dot pitch on the Hitachi (Lilliput) is 0.19mm.
http://www.digitalww.com/TM701L_install24.htm there's an install of an LCD in a Cougar... similar console as you have, so maybe an idea. http://www.digitalww.com/TM701L_install11.htm and another

Sitting the car today i realised I could use my laptop, since I always have it with me. Make a little docking station for it that plugs into the touch screen n stuff. Im also trying to think how realistic it would be to get internet in the car...via salalite, since we dont have a neighborhood wide wireless lan yet.( working on that one...hehe)

No sh*t I actually had a cop drive on the shoulder of the road around me when I was the only car in left lane at a stop light on a 3 lane one way with parking both sides... cop drove to the left of me after he zoomed up on me like he was going to pull me over (I was speeding a bit...). I figured he liked the movie too.
Anyway, probly not going to have much happen with this until after the holidays (gotta save up so I can go home for the holidays)...
So until then...
Maybe I'll just make a new thread in Jan or Feb when I get all the parts together and actually start installing it.

Well, this kinda sucks... I purchased some crap I didn't need last month on my debit card for $250 (not the rear control arms... I actually needed those), and for some reason it just came through today. I really took a hit on the account, got $50 in there until the 15th, then $300 of insurance and $70 of cell phone comes out of my account... I get a little less than $600, so that means nearly $400 is gone right there, leaving me with $250 (IF I spend $0 this month, which is impossible...) to drive 2800 miles and to eat while I'm home. This means I'm short on the $$$ flow, so the most unneeded thing has to go. Sadly it's this monitor, which means my plans for a computer probly won't happen until spring/summer when I can afford all this crap again (my insurance is set to drop from $300/month to $200/month in a couple months). I'm placing it on Ebay for $50 less than I paid for it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5736935356So farewell to the Lilliput monitor, for now.

Wow, much to my suprise, it sold an hour after I put it up, they bought it with Buy It Now, which I said I would waive the shipping on it ($199).
So I shipped off the Lilliput today... hopefully I'll get a new one in a few months...
