Oh, thats right. Let me come to your place of work and throw objects at you. I bet your REALLY going to just stand there. You really can't be serious. The only player that should be fined is BEN WALLACE. Those sucka ass fans need to be dealt with as well.
DETRIOT PISTONS fans are [censored] for life!
Root cause: Flagrant foul; Did you miss the totally uncalled for foul? 45 seconds, down by more than 10, not going for the ball, and the hit to the back of (Wallaces) the head with the left hand? Had the foul not have occured, the whole mess wouldn't have happend, the Pistons would have taken a schooling at home and a great game would ensued on X-mas day in Indiana.
Once Ben shoved Arpest there was no stopping it.
Yea the fans blew it. Big time. But is Artest had fouled me like that, I'd have done the same or more to Artest. I'd have taken the suspension and fines and been done with it. Leave it on the court.
Then Aretest hit the wrong guy. I hope he pays big time. What a tool, hitting the wrong guy and then running away. After laying on the bench like a PunkAssedBitch! Yea, the fan who threw the bottle of watter should be arrested. So should Artest...

this was a sad situation but there's a lot of people in the wrong both fans and players.
good to see a couple fans got what they deserved for getting on the court and trying to fight.
You're not kidding man! I mean WTF were those drunks thinking? (Oxymoron, I know) But, it must have went like this in their heads "Hmmm.. I know he's 6'8" 245lbs of Man Mountain, but I can take him! I can DO IT!"

Like I said above, they deserve it. The best way to 'punish' the idiots at that game today is to bring the whole city down with them. I suppose it's unfortunate, but due justice.
In no way am I defending the actions of the fans tonight because it was deplorable, and I've seen some of the idiots in person at games before. But the players are not free of blame. I just see a distinction between defending yourself and going into the stands to chase down fans. And they're suppose to be professionals beyond that. The fans should get their due, let the police handle it. There've unfortunately been an escalating level of fan violence - just look at all the incidents of baseball fans hurling coins or batteries - and any one of those incidents could've escalated into this situation if players had reacted similarly. Unfortunately the precedent was set here, and the media will jump on it extra hard because of the '84 riots or whatever carryover preconceptions.
At least Artest now will have that time off he wanted for his record promo and he gets some more free pub, two birds with one stone. And ESPN gets to hype up the Christmas day rematch.

Did you fall down and bump your head today? Gee, some dirtball was drunk driving and killed an innnocent person. Lets lump all drivers into the same batch...
How is bringing the whole city down due justice?

They just said that any fan that ran on the court deserved what they got! I hope the next time Jack Nickolson or Spike Lee are on the court JON punches them out too!
Well ESPN commentators are mainly former players anyway. The guy that ran out on the court was put down by Artest, when he was getting back up is when JON ran over and hit him. We all know the rules don't apply to Jack anyway.
The entire brawl was a chain reaction of instigation and escalating retaliation. Cool heads at any point likely could've contained this. So much blame to go around. It'll be interesting to see the suspensions, charges, league/security changes that come about. No matter what the decisions are there will be outrage for being too harsh or letting too much go.

Hey, this is what happens when Players, in particular hockey players, strike.
The above is meant as humor for those who need clarification.
