On the Ford probes we had an equivalent mod...Except we just cut off the IAT sensor with an inline SPDT (on/off) switch.
What would happen is during shofts the fuel cut was remover and line pressure was at full, so instead of the car backing off during shifts, it pulled hard, and allowed the car to even break loose the tires in that 1-2shift. By cutting the IAT the car would act as it does when cold, and max line pressure to resist possible freezing, but when the IAT sensor would read higher than 50deg, the line pressure decreased and the fuel cut was activated during shifts. On the 93-95 OBD1 cars, when you hit the switch the CEL came on, and when you hit the switch again, it would go off...with an OBD2 car the CEL would stay on. We also had a VAF not an MAF in the probes.
I know this isn't exactly the same as what's above, but it's the same idea. It took off .4 from my stock 1/4 mile, and between .2-.5 off other probe GT ATX's...
And with a high stall performance torque converter for higher RPM launches and firmer shifts, and a shift kit, to firm shifts more, and also an external tranny cooler to keep ATX temps even lower, you could drop your 1/4 mile times by close to a second putting you in line with an equivalent MTX.
Oh well...that's all...
