Max Tranny pressure will keep the clutch plates from slipping under heavy load, but also causes the trans to absorb more horespower. If it is not slipping under present conditions, you wouldn't want to waste HP on making oil pressure in the trans. You really want the right pressure, not necessarily the max pressure. my 2 cents.
