I think Dion makes a really good point. Hood pins are safer, and almost like an insurance pollicy for your hood. They arnt necessary, but highly recomended.

Blah blah blah....just seems like a small pissing contest...lol
Chirs, i know you hate hood pins, so let me give you a little insight......
I have Mikes Fiberglass hood, which is really light compared to stock.
I ahve been consistantly driving it for months now at 80-90+ speeds on a regular basis.
No shake, no rattle, no problems......Hell i even got to 160MPH on 280 and maintained it for 1 minute..(no over heating by the way)...The hood did not pop up.
Chris my sugestion to you, try it out with out the pins, if it shakes or rattles, then i would get the pints...even though you hate them...best bet, try and find pins that match the color of the CF hood....so they don't show up as much.

No disrespect here, but I say there's no way you could have gotten to 160 unless it was a steep downhill. We'll just say you were at high speeds.

That's why I said it was my belief. It is a pissing contest. It's a matter of opinion. We all have differing opinions. The only consensus here is that we all have Ford Contours.
I use pins for safety. I've seen several cars at my friends shop. If your hood doesn't shake or flutter, great, but mine does, and when I go over to my friends shop, I'll see those smashed windsheilds. My friend will smirk and say "no pins."

So what it comes down to is cheap insurance...that's all hood pins are.

Ok...I'll be the first then....I like them, they grew on me. It makes the front view a wee bit more aggressive looking.

Really? Ya think so? But in any case, do you still have these hoods howie?
Totally sold out for a 90 GT vert.... 1/4 mile is almost the same as my modded svt w/n2o was...
