my 1999 SVT had its Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT)sensor changed (the one that faces the fire wall with two wires, the one that sends the signal to the computer - the Collant Temperature Gauge sender with one wire seems to work fine).
So even though there is a new ECT sensor and the computer has been reset the code continues to come up. The wires look ok.
So far the other causes I've seen by searching the p0118 code is that the computer is bad in the car or the new sensor is bad. Any other ideas? I don't have a sensor to test the ECT sensor suppose I could ask the mechanic to double check.
The mechanic had said something about having Ford remap or reflash the computer. The Ford mechanic went round and round on that one.
Oh yea, the fan comes on within a minute after the car has been turned on and stays on at high speed.
