I noticed while surfing some sites for the SCTA (Southern California Timing Association) that the rules for making all-out speed runs require tire valve stems be made of steel and be equipped w/steel valve caps as well. Certain drag strips have this ruling too. Some recreational vehicles, and any tire holding over 65 PSI are required by law to be so equipped.
I have had some tires experience slow leaks at this point and I know it is good practice to change out valve stems when replacing ones tires, but I never thought of this part to be vulnerable to catastrophic failure.
Many of us have invested in SS brake hoses, but these are not apparently required by any of the above entities.
Perhaps this would be a more worthwhile investment in modding/upgrading our cars, but who supplies such stems and whats your opinion, please?

when i worked in a tire shop we had special valve stems for high pressure applications (80 psi for a 1 ton truck, load range E tires)

for normal use a regular valvestem is fine

It would be a cool mod though, pointless and expensive, but cool.
