Yes, they do. One of the first things I did when I got this thing home was to dig out my geiger counter and check for radiation. I thought this might have radium-based glow-in-the-dark paint. I didn't detect anything beyond normal background radiation, so I guess it doesn't. But it does glow. One remaining mystery: On the back is a pair of electrical terminals, and the label ??27 v?. I assume that ??27 v? means , just as it would in English, that the device wants 27 volts across those terminals. It's not clear to me why. Clearly, the entire clock mechanism is spring-driven, and runs with no electrical power at all. The best guess I could make would be for dial illumination, but this dial doesn't look like it is made to be electrically-illuminated. I guess I'll have to try connecting it to an electrical source and see what happens. 27 volts is a rather odd voltage to be trying to find, but if it is for illumination, then perhaps 12 volts will produce enough of an effect to make this clear.

"It looks like a watch or chronometer to meâ?¦ The upper scale says Time of the flight, the lower one says Seconds, â??2 cytokâ? means two full days (2x24), the button on the left says Begin"
