I can answer that one really easily.

1) Ford can shaft loyal customers because they have their money already. Just like GM and Chrysler, they know that most people who buy (insert brand name here) cars are (brand name) fans and don't drive the competition, so they have no incentive to treat you right, or give you a superior product.

2) You have to deal with a faulty parts issue because Ford, GM and Chrysler want their suppliers to provide them with parts at bargin basement prices. They only care about quality to the extent that they want the part to last for the warranty period. When you pay bargin basement prices, you get bargin basement quality. It's as simple as that.
