98Se: To you too !!! Reason I asked is that I really don't like the look of the updated cupholder, nor do I want to spend that kind of money on it. I suppose I found one in the wreckers I'd part with the $$$ for it, but there's no way I'll go to the dealer for one ... You know, I added a nice fold-away one I got from Wally World to my Jetta and it works pretty good. I think I should try and see if it will fit somewhere ... in the car that is ..

what is the price and part #?

It looks like this part just slides into place (overtop the current cupholders) however, my cupholders do not have the rubber inserts that they came w/ from the factory. My cupholders are just the hard plastic console (what it would be like w/out the inserts). Will the new part still slide in and fit correctly w/out the rubber inserts?

Thanks in advance.

Chill,

Why would you go to ANY Ford dealer when you can buy from a CEG member/supporter.

Here is the info you need.

XS2Z-5413562-BAA List $35.52 CEG $26.64
S&H is $5 flat

The kit comes with the cupholder, and two inserts that go into your existing holder so you do not need the rubber inserts anyway, and 2 peices of Velcro to hold it in. Takes all of 5 minutes to put it in.

Bill Jenkins I am moving to Team Ford as of 08/01/05 (www.teamfordlv.com). I will post new info when it's ready.

It fits all of the 98 and newer Contiques. It makes the cup holder taller. Basically you remove the rubber inserts and install the new taller thing that fits over both holes. As lousey as the original 98+ cup holders are, this is a huge improvement.

I totally agree. With this kit, it makes driving with beverages much safer.
