For several months I have ahd a 1998 CSVT. It has served a few miles as I stick mainly to my Bimmer. I bought this car for the track, twisties that is, and plan heavy engine modifications in the winter. I have a bugdet for this project of $3200 right now. What can I get HP wise with this right now, there is a vortech, right? But what will be the best bang for the buck?
I would like the T as I would then have great high RPM potency with track use where potentially I can get much more power via intercooling and controllers. But are these tepid waters at this point or would I be pioneering here?
Consensus please. Thank You.

IMO, for $3200 all you'll get is a probably underengineered Vortech kit, that is far from reliable... And taht's it... This is what *I* would do w/ $3200...
1. KKM & heatshield - $170 2. TB & MAF & S-AFC - $550 3. MSDS headers - $600 4. custom true dual cat-back - $500 inc. labor 5. Accusump - $350 6. electric water pump - $350 7. plugs and wires - $75-$150 8. Quaife - $600
------------------------------------- Total = cca. $3300+ labor on whatever you can't install yourself.
That'll get you through the season, then you can go ahead and do the 3.0 swap next winter, along w/ a new clutch.
Just what I would do...

I see you are back from last year...
We've added a Forced Induction section since last time you were here and cleansed the user base so that's why your old account is gone...

Just what I would do... The MSDS Headers sound most appealing. The clutch is weak on this car? With boost I plan on fortifying the pumps and the trx. That is another story. TB, MAF, are on the way. Those are easy enough. I will be purchasing the headlight air-intake Chris is molding. But I don't want the SC. I feel it will lash the driveline moreso than the Turbo with smooth onset of PSI. Any TURBO's here ?

Last year I did not have this car. It was a gift from a client of mine who is a real Ford fanatic. He races 2 5.0 liters and an older styled Mustang with a 351W and full racing chassis and cage. I owe this new project to him. HE pages through here a lot to see what the FWDer's are doing and recommended I sign up and get involved by working with your rec's. This car was for his son who recently lost motor function in his right hand and right leg due to a pinched nerve in his spine. But don't worry he is getting his son the car he always wanted, a 300ZX. He shall have the newest iteration in his garage when they come out. Thank You.
