Hrmm 92-96, that's 4 years of stagnation before he finally did something. Increasing came only after he had a huge budget surplus to burn. The surplus was due to the tech boom which he taxed the hell out of. He got lucky with the times.

Did I not say that Clinton made some bad decisions?

Did I not say that he could have done a better job of repealing some of the cuts made by the previous Bush Adminstration and didn't?

The pay raises authorized by the previous Bush Adminstration were 2.2% in 1993, 2.6% in 1994, 2.4% in 1995, and 3.0% in 1996 (Bush had budgeted 2.3% and Clinton increased it)

So I think the question be asking of you is this ... "considering your strong support of the war in Iraq, will you be serving in the U.S. military in Iraq, and if not, why not?"

I've understood most things that you've said in the past, as you've always had well thought out opinions and posts. But this one is a bit off for me. I know where this all comes from, as it started with F9/11, that if you support a war, then you should go fight in it, but I do not agree with this. Not every person is cut out for military service. But on the other hand, there are far more ways to serve the military than to enlist. After the Marines I worked for L-3 on secure military communications systems for the military, which are now being used to keep our troops safe. I also worked for Symantec on a project funded by the Air Force codenamed "Retriever", which did network scanning and security/vulnerability assessments, and quantification of risk, which is now being used to protect our Internet infrastructure. There are far more ways to "serve" than to go and hold a weapon.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

No, but he supports gay marriage. So in order to do that he must have been gay, or is gay, and apply for a gay marriage liscense or his opinion won't hold water.

Actually, you are correct. My opinion does not really hold water. I am not gay and I don't know what it is to be gay. So, why should I even be asked in the first place? Example, who would you rather have being a football anaylist? One who played the game or one who did not. The one who played the game has a unique perspective that is diffrent from the one who did not. The same goes for military and vets that were in comment. They are not so quick to say I support this war or I support that war BECAUSE they know the horrors of war.

Was the post flame bait? Maybe, it was but I really don't give a [censored].

Now I hate America? That is a new one to me.

Please antonio, flame bait??? I am trying to figure out this crazy logic that you use.

So your not gay and never were, so your opinion doesnt hold water; I guess we agree on that. So now, you should be gay in order to vote on gay marriage laws? What about gun laws, should those people that own guns be the only ones allowed to vote in gun laws?

You're right - I shouldn't have implied it was a fair or legitimate question - I just thought I'd try and help Antonio cut to the chase - hence the quotes.
