I wonder how much Pro War in Iraq [censored] would you be spouting if you had AK and morter rounds flying over your head.

Well, here's a perspective for you...

I've been for the Iraq war since day #1, and I still stand behind the decision. Not only that, but I have no less than 20 friends in action at this very moment, as well as my brother-in-law who is in Baghdad. I am a retired Marine, I have seen action in multiple counties, and I have had tracer fire fly past my head while I returned fire. I shattered my upper-femoral neck which leaves me with 40% less motion in my right leg, all while serving my country. If I were to get a call tomorrow asking me to return to duty, I would gladly do so. Its called Honor, Courage, Commitment.

You call what we say nonsense, yet have no idea who you are talking to on the other end. I will gladly fight any fight on foreign soil so it does not have to be fought in our streets, all so you can sit in YOUR comfy chair and [censored] about the war without getting shot at.

Let's just say *my* body was not able to withstand basic training.

One of my jobs while in the Marines was to escort injured recruits to the hospital. These people fall into two groups, MRP (Medical Rehibilitation Platoon, where people would await their injury to heal and then go back to training) and RSP (Recruit Seperation Platoon), with RSP being grouped into two groups as well, severely injured recruits who received a PEB (Physical Evaluation Board), and those whom we called "The [censored]", recruits who just simply whined and cryed until the "evil government" let them go home. I wonder which group you fall into?

Somebody needs to hit up the Census Bureau so we know how many people would be disqualified from having an opinion on war because of inelibility to serve. I'm guessing it would be somewhere around 80%.

Asking who is "pro-war" is a question that is likely to get answered with no one. At least no sane person.

Thomas Jefferson once put it very eloquently:
Quote:

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

He also said:
Quote:

It behoves every man who values liberty of conscience for himself, to resist invasions of it in the case of others: or their case may, by change of circumstances, become his own.

Conflict is often necessary to follow the intents of the founding fathers, and Jefferson specifically here. Few if any relish the thought of war, but many will brave it if necessary; this is the case with our current armed forces. We have a fully volunteer army; every last one of them signed up knowing full well that they may be asked to fight at any time.

Your question was basically, who would be willing to go? Well, if necessary, I would certainly go. Would I want to? Would I be overjoyed? No, definately not, but, I would be willing and I would go if required.

LOL! I'm flat footed which would disqualify me from ground pounding and I'm too tall for almost all combat aircraft, so technically my opinion wouldn't count either.

the army beat their enlistment goals for fiscal 2004, so apparently there are quite a few (nearly 100,000 for the army alone).

EternalOne, I wish not to speak about my medical conditions over the internet. I will say this though, before you make assumptions know what the [censored] you are talking about.

Now I hate America? That is a new one to me.

I think it's becuase the military has finally been allowed to pay it's personal their worth. Clinton defeated all pay increases for military.

i guess i can't have an opinion either as partial color blindness and very pressure sensitive ears ended my talks with the navy.
