Okay, I have a 2.5L DOHC W/ 35K miles on an engine stand in my garage waiting to be transplanted into my SE W/ 189K+.

I want to know what I can do {with limited fundage} to increase performance. And by limited finances I mean I have a wife and a new house and don't have a pot to pi$$ in...

The engine is complete, is there much I can do with it or am I out of luck without alot of money.

I already have an open ele. filter and working on the true dual exaust with a friend who is doing the bending and such.

Help? confused

Sell it and buy a 3 liter for the same or less money. Mine cost me $525 delivered with 23,000 on the clock.

If that's not an option, buy all of the bolt ons you can. Nothing you can do to the engine itself really without major supporting bolt on mods needed down stream. SVT TB and intake manifolds would be a great start, gutting the pre cats is also an easy option while the engine is out. Of course you need all new plugs and wires too.

Unbolt the precats and gut them and clean up and bad slag from the welding in the precat ports.

yeah take the manifolds off and gut the precats, then if you have a dremmel laying around look in the ports and feel the edges on the insides, grind them smooth....
