I found a way to release the cable. On the center console I was able to put a screwdriver through the hole where the storage bin latches.I then raised the pawl on the brake lever and raised it.Then with the help of a friend,I pulled on the parking brake cable at the caliper end while my friend slowy relased the parking brake lever. It worked!!
