My stock 2.5 blew at 42K miles... With 64K on the Remanufactured engine, I have no problem swaping in a 3.0 that I put together myself. Will probably last longer by using updated and better parts.
Going to be picking up an '01 Escape engine this week... can't wait, have a lot of prep work to do this Winter
