In my experience, ads in the local paper are a waste of time. I've tried several times and got zero results from the classified. Autotrader.com, though, has always come through for me. Every car I've sold (including my 98 SVT) in the past decade has been done through them and I've negotiated a price that I think is fair. I find the people that use Autotrader are usually very serious about buying a car and behave accordingly.
