OP jsny New CEG\'er J Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 14 Warren, MI	Does anyone know what it should cost for labor on a clutch replacement? I already have a different clutch and flywheel available for my 98.5 SVT. Dealer wants $1000 just to crack it open and confirm whats wrong with it plus ~$400 extra to do it. Talked to someone else and they wanted $850 for labor. Much better deal but still wondering if it's high. Thanks in advance for the insight. Jeff cleanslatewallpaper@yahoo.com

You might want to find someone who specializes in manual transmissions and ask them, not just a 'transmission shop' though as I've found they know little more than the basics outside of autos! I must admit, in the past I've looked specifically for 'classic car' automotive mechanics. CSVT E0 3L 14.5 @ 94mph, Stock Intake, Stock Exhaust minus Resonator, CEL, And Broken Pass. Side CV...Untuned.
