I think I just fixed mine!(knock wood)I took C205 (the big red wire connector)loose from the fuse panel and bent the tab slightly to make it contact the spade in the fuse block better, put it back together, and it seems to be working fine.
I didn't have an issue with the relay socket (C2009). But I definitely had the melted connector at the red/green wire at connector C205 (the red wire, like in your picture). I think mine must have melted when my blower control switch failed back in May of 2003 and it just took a few months to give me any problems. I'm going to hit a salvage yard and try to get a connector from a wrecked 'tour to fix mine right.
