I have had mine only for about 3 weeks, and the placement really does suck. BUT I seem to have the 'fix' for it which is fairly simple......
It does put the Filter/MAF about 6" from the Rad fans, and once those babys kick on the idling goes to ****, and bounces and stalls. My fix was to create a 'shield' of sorts that 'protects' it from air that is disturbed once the fans kicked on. That has solved 90% of my stalling. Still working on the other 10%.
As for the water getting sucked up..My theory tho unproven is this. 1)Filter will soak up most of it 2)Very little water would actually get sucked up into the intake manifold, look how far it would have to travel! and if it would...wouldn't that fine mist help the cooling of the incoming air???
Like i said nothing proven, just my theory
