Matrix Reloaded, the big chase scene, one of the cars that rolled, had a full blown roll cage. Doh! Didn't know they were standard issue on an Oldmobile(I think that's what it was.).

hate to burst your bubble, but stuff like that is already in its prototype stage and police are exprimenting with it.
Its not as extream, its simple a device that rolls under the car and emits a small EMP pulse to short all the electronics in the car.
Stuff like that unfotunatly, may come into exsistance really soon in our lives.

Who knows...but I did notice during one of the chase scenes, the car gets major air. When it lands, the frame of the car buckles and noticeably forces the hood up. In the next scene the car was good as new. Originally posted by svt4stv:

Gee, when did Chargers come with EXTRA hubcaps that pop into place when one is lost, like a shark's teeth?
They also drove by the same white VW Bettle several times throughout the chase. Must be one fast bug

2 fast 2 furious when bryan is getting in his pimp ride, the blue one in the beginning when he hops in and shuts the door you can see the side ground effect is barely attached.It shakes and you can see a huge gap! plus the rest of it was pretty fake as well so i guess it fits

yeah i know, i heard about those things a few years ago. I was just referring to this movie's use of this rocket propelled thingy as if was already in existence, after all, that wasnt supposed to be a futuristic movie. Plus, how Brian throws it lie a football back at them. 
oh yes, lets not forget the 100mph 180 degree spin to go 100mph in reverse. then back again, woo hoo! im surprised i never read about some dumbass getting killed trying to do that.

The car is actually of fiberglass construction with stainless steel panels hung on the outside. The panels are not much heavier than normal steel panels, and the panels themselves only make up a small fraction of the total car weight. Although not as light as some small all-plastic sports cars, it is not overly heavy either.
To be exact, the total curb weight with a full tank of gas is 2712 lbs (1232.73kg) with a weigth destribution of 35% in the front and 65% in the rear.

every car movie that has a car jumping through the air, I always notice when it hits the ground everything buckles! and things break! but yet the car is still driveable...
they did that ALOT on the show dukes of hazzard... that car buckled sooooo bad at some points and it would be good as new the next minuit!
oh and theres a movie mad in europe (england) I saw a preview for it, it had a volvo and mondeo chase! it was pretty cool! lots of crashin in the mondeo!
oh and the movie die hard? I beleive? I could be wrong.. it has the scene with the grand am flying through a building! and out of it onto the free way.. the car buckled incredibly bad! but was still ok in the next scene! oh yeah it kept showing the windshield smashed from the out side but it was perfectly fine from the inside!
