Email is a form of electronic communication. Google has a large server with large storage space. At this time, you get an invite to the service and then can have an account. 1gb is equal to 1000mb and this is the space they give you to store emails.

oh ok, i knew Google was planning on bringing out email but i didnt put the two together "gmail". i have seen the gmail invites in here but didnt know what it was and just passed over it. ill have to look into it. im sick of hotmail with the tons of spam everyday.
