I tried searching for squeak, squeaking, etc and couldnt come up with an answer to this question:

Whenever put my foot on the brake to put the car into reverse or drive (like when im parked) i get a squeaky weird type noise comming from the car (i think it comes from the sides). Anyone know why?

You may be getting a little bit of moan from the brake pads as the braking load is changed from engaging a gear.

You may also be hearing any of a hundred other things. It is kind of hard to hear what you hear over the internet.

it happens to alot of us. i'll get two noises. an occasional pop after i've released the ebrake, put it in reverse and start to gas it. the other is just a sqeak when in reverse. i dont recall if the squeak is after rain and the rear rotors have that "rust" on them.

More than likely even after you have released you parking break the pads haven't completely released. They tend to make more noise when you are reversing at first rather than pulling forward. Nothing to worry about.

The noise happens as i push the brake pedal in and start to move in any direction (starts squeaking about half way through the pedal). It sounds pretty loud, doesnt bother me much except for when there's people around and they start looking around for the noisy car...

thanks guys

You have crappy/cheap or improperly lubed pads.
