The following post is completely non-contour. I'm asking it here because I've found more knowledgable people here than on any of the other online forums I'm a part of.

I'm putting a 351W in a porsche 924 for a grassroots challenge. The car has 4 wheel disc 944 brakes, but they've always been a little soft. I'm afraid with the increased weight, it'll be much harder to stop. Also, I don't have room for the booster (which will make it MUCH harder to stop). Is it wise to use a larger master cylinder and modify pedal geometry a little in this case? Thanks!

In a word, No. If you are worried about stopping already, taking out the booster isn't going to do you any good.

My advice, is to find some nice aggressive pads, and stainless lines if your GRM budget can swing it, and leave the rest of the system alone.

I understand removing the booster isn't going to do me any good. I have to remove the booster. With the way the engine sits, there won't be enough room for it. So, I'm trying to determine what I can do to slightly compensate for the loss of the booster. Stainless lines are going to be too much. Pads are a maybe. Thanks though!

Where did I see the link to small brake boosters for tight applications Dang, can't remember. They *are* out there though. Not sure what it'd do to the budget however...

How muscle bound are you? The larger the MC the more 'leg' you'll need.

Your can modifiy the pedal ratio which will help, or you can see what the piston area of the calipers are compared to what you had prior. A non boosted MC much larger than maybe 7/8 takes some effort.

As RARA said; grippy pads will help, as will larger rotors. It's going to depend largely on what you want to spend or can make do.
