I just noticed that the stock resonator has an inlet that does not line up with the outlet. So does this mean a center inlet/center outlet glasspack won't work?

Actually it will work BUT it needs to be welded in. You can't go down to Meijer and buy a Thrush glasspack and clamp it on. THAT won't work. Plus if you need a center res PLEASE don't buy a cheap glasspack, because you get what you pay for. Buy a Dynomax Bullet at a minimum (2.5" is the smallest they make). Otherwise you can order a Magnaflow center resonator from me (any size), at cost, or Edelbrock makes a pricey, yet quality alternative also. Email me if you need more help - but stay away from the Cherry Bomb/Thrush glasspacks. They are total rubbish!

Well what is the overall length? I bought a Cherry Bomb or something like that in a 25" overall length. It is designed for off-set setups. Is 25" long enough? He said it was a universal muffler. I bought a cheap one as a temporary solution, I'm going to straightpipe in the coming weeks.

25" should be OK for ya . Mine's about 24" and is a center inlet/outlet & it works perfectly . It's welded in there too , BTW .

Dan,
Easy answer: yes, a 24-25" cheap glasspack will work in there for you. That's what I have on my car right now. As a matter of fact, it is even clamped in there, bridging the gap (including the offset) left by the stock resonator.
But am I happy with the setup? No, not for an instant.
I needed a quick and dirty setup after I decided that a straight pipe was too loud and raspy. So I threw in a $20 glasspack with clamps, etc. After a year the setup looks like the junk that it is. Road salt shows no mercy.
My long term solution is to weld in a Magnaflow resonator. BTW, thanks, Aussie, for hooking me up with a beautiful stainless Magnaflow. This is the way I should have done it to begin with. Don't be fooled thinking that the right thing to do is replace a stainless stock resonator with a piece of junk. Yes, it will work for now, and yes, it's cheap, but think about the long term here....

Contour Guy, are you talking about a glasspack in lieu of a muffler? I thought you liked being resonator-less. I've wondered what it would be like with just straight pipe from the cat back and a good quality glasspack midway down. Right now I'm running stock exhaust with the resonator removed.
