Doesnt matter the temp. outside, as soon as the idle comes down to 1000 it is reverse.
To cold to let it sit there and idle, and gas cost to much. For those that thinks it may do damage, my Grandpa has a 95 Escort with 137k, he ahs always done that and never had any issues with the trans. or engine.
