Does resetting the PCM do more than reading and erasing any existing codes? Is the computer adaptive in this vehicle?

I will certainly try this as I cannot possibly see how it could hurt anything.

As far as a vacuum leak, wouldn't that affect the idle more than above idle running (because a leak is a greater proportion of intake air at idle than above idle)? I am asking because most false air leaks I have seen seem to screw up a smooth idle before they are noticed at greater throttle openings.

Keep 'em coming please...I am leaving the car with my daughter in AZ, and I would like it as 'right" as possible before I leave for the East Coast in a week because she will be at the mercy of the Ford "Stealership" after I am gone.
