Moore and the hordes of his enthusiasts are a stain on the party â?? as are those Democratic senators and representatives who last June made a merry festival of the movie's Washington premiere. Moore illustrates the fact that the GOP benefits â?? it is energized by resentment â?? when the entertainment industry and major journalistic institutions (e.g., The New York Times, CBS News) enlist as appendages of the Democratic Party's advocacy apparatus.

Yes, there is a difference between being on the ballot and being paraded around as the spokesperson. But if I understand correctly, Michael Moore got a 'VIP' seat at the Democratic convention. I suppose I don't know the qualification for getting that seat, but it doesn't seem to me they were trying to bring distance between themselves and Michael Moore. Whether you like it or not, F 911 and the rest of that faction of the left (CBS/60 Minutes, Dan Rather, NYT, and George Soros) probably has as much to do with the recent mobilization of the right as anything.
