I may out of line here, but it seems to me the day you see no protestors on the streets of America, is the day you want to be real concerned about the quality of freedom enjoyed in your country.

One of the themes I see repeated over and over again is how soldiers pay the price for freedom ... freedom doesn't come free; and I couldn't agree more.

Despite what some ill-informed posters to this forum think, Canada has a tremendous record of "paying the price for freedom" all around the world - including members of my own family.

And I only mention this to put my next thought into context - because when I see peaceful protestors who are presenting a viewpoint I don't agree with - I see it as confirmation of the importance and the value of the sacrifices made to keep our freedom. I don't get angry when my fellow citizens take full advantage of the freedoms that others fought to protect.

That's my take on it, anyway.

Yep, and I have the same right to drive by them and give them dirty looks if I want. We also seem to forget that soldiers, police, etc. are citizens too, and enjoy the same freedoms they help protect.
