I'd say go for the ps2, in fact, I don't think the Xbox is at all worth the money. Halo is awesome, Halo 2 will be even better. The controller for the xbox is much better but thats about it (in my opinion). PS2 has the Gran Tourismo series (big plus, although forza will cut into it a bit). I personally like the Armored Core series. And there are a handful of other games I really like for the playstation.

the only downside I can see from having an x box is the retarded controllers, the huge size of the console, and having to pay for x box live (which you can get around).
I wouldn't pay $150 for a PS2...maybe 2 years ago but not now. I still enjoy mine though...

yeha? how can you get around paying for xbox live?? i can't find a way to let a modded xbox play on xbox live without disabling the chip ( which kinda defeats the purpose), let alone play for free. Please share.

I wouldn't say the PS2 is necesarially the way to to at this point. You might as well just wait for the PS3 if you want backwards compatability. The technology in the PS2 is so outdated that it really takes away the competativeness of it. They do have a few exclusive titles but mostly only devellopment companies they own as most stuff out nowadays is both XBOX and POS2

You know something, GTA San Andreas looks like crap, really it does. I still love it.
Graphics mean nothing to me. To me the only reason to get the XBOX over a PS2 is for Halo and Halo 2. Not worth it to me. Not many games on the system are must have titles for me.
I finally broke down and got a PS2 in the summer. I'll buy GT4, I already have San Andreas, and a few other games that I have been looking at.
I wish I'd bought a Gamecube. I'd own about 20 games by now and I'd still be playing all of them. Between the upcoming games like Zelda and Metroid Echos, and the classic games that came out at launch, I'd have more than enough to turn me into a fat slobbering vegetable.

well its not exactly legal (i'm sure you know that) but with a modded x box there is a way to hack (not sure if thats the word I'm looking for) your way onto x box live and play for free. I am not sure how you do it but I was snooping around on the net one day and read about it.

i find Xbox controllers to be the best, followed by Ps2 and in distant last is that retarded ass game cube.
The xbox controller has a natural feel to it.

The original large xbox controller did suck. They replaced it later on with the smaller 'S' controller.
