i dont think its worth it. save your money and get the new x-box. sony is struggling to prefect the blue ray technology for ps3 plus microsoft is basically gonna drive sony off the game market. right now it costs microsoft and sony approximately 400 bucks to produce the xbox and ps2. microsoft cut the price for more competition down to 150 as you see it now. microsoft (mainly bill gates) has enough money that they dont even care that they loose 250 bucks on every sale. gates make up the money loss in interest on his investments. microsoft also bought out all the licenses on the new games and will produce them, so i a few years a huge chunk of the us gaming market will be dominated by microsoft. and sony and nintendo wont be able to compete

You are VERY misinformed. It does not take Sony or Microsoft $400 to make a console.
I suggest you read this page.

well i got all that info in a long discussion between a sony rep and an epson rep recently at work, so one of them must be wrong

well the next time you talk to them make sure you tell them to keep their lips sealed because "dumping" (selling below cost--unfair trade practice) is a violation of FTC regulations and the company can be SEVERELY penalized for it including any and all persons who take part in it. There are only certain instances in which this practice is permitted and is typically for a good cause or for a company to get rid of a product that they are unable to sell, like the Dreamcast. (even then it's highly scrutinized)

*ps companies do commit this practice and I'm not saying that Sony definitely doesn't. This happens probably more than we know but the companies don't get caught. when they do, they get burned quite bad. it has happened to car companies a number of times in the past, as well as other product makers. There's an old famous saying "figures lie and liars figure". Sony may be realllll good at shifting their numbers so that regualatory agencies think they are squeaky clean, but who knows? we never know about it until they get caught.
