Interesting little tid-bit...
I went to a Michael Moore rally (I don't really care for the guy, but I promised the woman I'd take her) and found one part especially interesting.
He pulled three American college students out of the crowd of 7000 or so people. He asked for three students with high GPAs. All three of them said they had 4.0's and were attending Willamette University - a very respectable liberal arts school in Salem, Ore. Then he asked for a Canadian to come up on stage. The guy wasn't a student, but was visiting family in Oregon. He asked the Canadian to name the president of the US, asked where the capital was and how many states we had. He got all three questions right.
Then he asked the three 4.0 American college students who the prime minister of Canada was, where their capital was located and how many provinces they had. Not a single one of these "brain children" could answer any of those questions. Hell, I got a 2 out of 3, but only because I spend 8 hours a night reading the AP news wire at my job.
Really reflects how naive the average American is when it comes to basic knowledge on any other nation...kind of makes you think...
