Anyways if your looking for a cheaper alternative to synthetic, Valoline MaxLfe, cost about .40 more per quart and claims to make the engine last longer.

If it costs more, how is it a cheaper alternative to synthetic?????? And claims mean [censored] with out the proof to back it up!!!! only proof that counts, is real world testing, because no matter if it functions in a controled enviornment, the unclontroled enviornment of the real world is what counts...from an independant sorce like(www.bobtheoilguy.com).

Well considering not everyone can fork over $4 per quart I was just tossing that out there.
Anyways people on the commericals ( I know they are paid) have said their vehicles dont smoke anymore.

Also looks who makes it Valoline, pretty good company with a good reputation.

Mobil 1 nothing wrong with it, it is just the fact several years ago they ended up buying a lot of engines they wernt planning on, because the oil was messed up.

Look at your original statement and read it slowly...and answer my question...Mobil 1 4.00 a quart...you just admited it....now if Valvoline MaxLife is 40 cents more than it, why use it...its a dyno oil...why not save your money and buy Mobil 1.....see where im going with this, they way you worded your original statement, makes it 100% sound like MaxLife is 40 cents more than Mobil 1....

Do you even know what your talking about...and forget [censored] comercials....Look for facts not what a commercial says.

Where ever you get your info from is obviouly flawed, and you should rethink your thoughts before you type them out.

Come on Lupe you knew what I meant, .40 more about than regular Vavoline

God damn you look for every littel typing error.

Anyways $4 x 6 or 5 quarts whatever you have so $20 or $25 for just the oil, then $5-$7 for the filter, so we could be at $32 just for an oil change!
Hell heres what I do and it works fine for me, buy a Motorcraft oil filter, just checked reciept $6.31. Buy a case of 12 quarts of Vavoline when its on sale so like $18 for 12 quarts, or like $1.35 per quart.
So my oil change cost about $13, give or take some change, so I can do two oil changes at 3000 miles each for $26 and have $6 left over, and your one at 6000 if you want to wait that long cost $32 which is $6 more than my 2.
It is better in my opinion to use the cheaper oil, and do it every 3000 miles.

Anyways my Grandpa is the one who told me about Mobil 1 having to buy quite a few engines several years ago.

get over yourself because i honestly thought your being serious because i have never priced out MaxLife oil..because i never use it........

And thats another common way of bringing misinformed info to the boards.....Im sorry if i was grilling you, Please forgive me for trying to find out correct infomation....

Besides there are people stupid enough to take a lot of info at face value with out proof, and they deserver to get correct infomation....so quit being a tool and start posting some fact.

Yup, casue you do not want a thicker oil, on extremly cold start ups, becasue it takes longer to reach all the parts it has to lubricate.

Remember, we damage our motors and ware them on every single start up, because the oil is not in motion.

Using an oil that can reach them properly (0w 30 or 5w 30) in cold tempatures like your worried about,
is one way of keeping the damage down to a minumun.
