I heard it has something to do with those little catalytic convertors, not sure though. You better ask someone else like Pascal. :p
Now my turn for question, where do you put the MIL on a '95? I know that I have less O2 sensors, but I'm not sure where they are.

Basically, you're making cheap free-flow headers, by removing the pre-cat material from the stock exhaust manifold
