I... wrecked my 'tour today. I was driving to class, and an older woman pulled out in front of me. Rather than hit her, I slammed on the brakes and tried to bring the car around the corner onto the road that she had just pulled out from but I didn't quite make it, and hit an embankment head on. I am unsure at this point, but I am pretty sure the insurance company is going to total it. I hit the rail/embankment at about 40, so there is pretty much no way the car made it through. Airbags deployed, saving my life, but I am still in quite a bit of pain. And mentally distraught, cause I loved the car =(. Anyhoo, just wanted to let you all know that I am no longer the owner of a Contour. Next car I buy will likely be a Taurus, because good 'Tours are hard to find around here =(. Thanks for answering my questions... I suppose I will post some pictures when I go to get my stuff from the car. =(.

Dude that sucks. Get better soon. A buddy of mine got a 99 SHO a few months back. Its a bit of a boat but it takes the twisties like a champ. For a car of that gurth the suspension is quite impressive. It put a smile on my face.

That really sucks. You're okay - that's all that matters.

I have only seen the car once, going up onto the flatbead, but I saw into the engine, so I think it is done.

Actually I'm not, bags deploying, or the car being involved in a stage 1 or 2 flood will make it salvage, time to read up there Pete.
