Sure, and repair the pain / trauma that my family went through fighting the Civil War. If this was 1890, sure, it would be a good idea, but why should someone who was not alive during that time be paid money? Should Germany pay all the descendants of the Jews? Should the Israelites be paid by the Egyptians? How far is that going to be taken?

While that is certainly a good advice for anyone. How should we as a society deal with those who fail to follow the advice?
And should we try to repair what was done to minorities in this country mere half-century ago?
