Yep, I jump outa the threads when the mindless mud-slinging starts.
I've been good... mostly.  I certainly don't outright flame people. That type of behavior is generally not part of my idiom, and for the most part I'm quite civil. YOU must also admit there have been some VERY GOOD threads discussing political & social issues.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I will readily admit it. I do this for a living and I can tell you that I have been engaged, entertained, educated and otherwise pleasantly surprised by many of the posts I read here.
All the more surprising that relatively good communicators feel the need to prop up their argument with what is essentially journalistic bullying.
Having said that, I think I've noticed a different tone of late; could be the election's over and the rhetorical temperature's dropped - or maybe the innoculation has taken effect and I am now immune.

We are certainly arrogant, also egocentric and impatient. We struggle with zenophobia and tolerance but try to overcome. But we are ALSO courageous, generous, hard working, loyal, pioneering, inventive, (we invented most every modern devise). We act boldly and we worship freedom. Are you saying I am biased in favor of America? Well yes, I suppose I am. But do not be mistaken, I see our bad side but unlike "some" I see our good as well.
