Your post of course rings true...hypocracy, egocenticity, acid sarcasm, sanctamonious speech are as common here as the "short hand" of obsenities. We all have our weapons and flaws and it would be nice if they were checked at the door a little more often. Still, some good exchanges here and worth an occasional "wound".
There are parallels between consevatives and liberals and the U.S. and the E.U. Truely the world sees Americans at times in a less flattering light than we see ourselves but the opposite is true as well. I will say that going forward will be tough...American the war monger, Spain who's cowardice made them yield to terror, France that sold their honor for a buck, Germany the ungreatful, Russia that armed our enemy. All are steriotypes but they are pretty indelable at this point. Someone has to be the bigger man and extend the hand of friendship across the pond. Check the "weapons" at the door and open a dialog. Some good exchanges would be worth an occasional "wound".
We will see if "W" can do it.
