Really? Considering many of the high courts in this nation now have a liberal majority sitting on the bench, exactly what are you saying here?
The U.S. Constitution limits the power and scope not only of the judicial branch, but also the legislative and executive branches of the gov't. The primary purpose of the courts is to interpret existing laws on the books, not to legislate. What we are seeing ongoing in today's gov't is the three branched system at work, juggling difficult moral and legal issues. The three branch system is self balancing in many ways. Jefferson often referred to the "chains of the U.S. Constitution" in many of his writings and speeches, because the founders of this nation knew the inherent power of very limited gov't.
Exactly how are we limiting the rights of minorities? Many of the minority population chooses not to follow the law when it comes to voting procedures. As a result, some of the provisional ballots and absentee ballots are discarded. Just as with every other right that we have, whether it be life, liberty, happiness, etc., all rights must be observed within the letter of the law that helps define them. Voting is no exception.
