I need a new battery , I've been looking for a yellow top , but would take a red top insted . I can't find help . Can I just measure it and find something to match , or do I need to get one specifically made for 98 SVT ? Any help would be great . Thanks , quiksvt@hotmail.com

they don't come in different sizes, and i don't think they fit under the hood unless you lay them sideways....which is why mine is in the trunk.

Actually the red tops come in two sizes.
A group 75DT and a group 34/78DT.
You are most definitely correct about them not fitting in the upright position.

Be warned, we get optimas back the most out of any batteries we sell at work. Some dont even make it out of the store in working condition.

accualy the yellow tops come in 4 sizes now b/c they made one for the honda's, and the other three are about the same size, but not as powerfull... i have a yellow top under the hood of my tour,(in the upright pos) works just fine, just know that the red top's arent deep cycle, the yellows are and are a better battery IMO, u can also run a "blue" top (marine batt) and they work just fine too, but i dont think they would fit under the hood of a tour
