I went out this weekend and bought a '96 Contour 2.5, ATX, and 57k miles with my son. I've been lurking on this site for a couple of weeks and the info here was a great help in chosing a 'tour. So far he thinks it's great. I will be doing all the work on it so he doesn't care what he drives.
I'm thinking of selling my truck and getting a 'tour myself. An SVT would be nice. I'm old but I'm not dead.

do not forget to change your fluids and replace that water pump to a metal one and you must get a cooler and filter for that CD4E tranny

Welcome aboard!! I'll be 42 in January, so you're likely not all THAT old.
Enjoy the site & the car, and see if you & the boy can make it to a meet or two for some good food & harmless driving fun.

I'll be 40 (cough cough) 7 in Feb. I'm planning the water pump and filter check-up soon.
