Demon,

The 1.75" are one offs built to order last time I talked to Marty at MSDS. Also, they require custom install as the clearance is so tight that you've got to install all of the nuts on the studs at the same time, plus extra dimpling of the pipes here and there as necessary to fit past everything.

I don't even think its possible to get those headers on with the engine in the car. The piping is too large to get in there with anything.

Flemloid 3.0,

I definately be able to get the engine/tranny all setup and dropped in there pretty fast depending on how long it takes for the parts to get to me but I've never worked on a 95 Contour before and I heard there are a few differences. I wouldn't be able to do any tuning or computer work. You'd have to contact Street Flight or talk to the other 95 Contour people on the board with 3L's.

The easiest way would be to buy the engine, tranny (if your not using your old tranny) and all the parts you want on it and have it shipped to me so I can get it all prepped. Then when I'm finished get the car over here and I'd try to get it dropped in and out of my garage in a weekend or two depending on any hangups. What heads would you be going with? The two versions I've worked on are the hybrid with the SVT heads or the 3L oval port heads ported to match the 2.5L manifolds. Another option also the fastest would be to find a low milage 3L with split port heads and water pump on the side so everything bolts up perfectly, but then you don't get the revised pistons so its a trade off. It wouldn't matter if you weren't going to turbo or supercharge it. It would be a snap to throw together. I've done one hybrid (Brad Noon did the interal work) and I've built up two 3L's with the ported oval port heads (all on my own). I've also done a SVT swap and a few stock 2.5L swaps. So I shouldn't have a problem. You need to get a list together of what parts you want.

It is possible to do those headers in the car (at least the front one). It took me better part of 8-10 hours to do the whole job including some repair work to the header.

I need to get a hold of Terry Haines for Tranny work possibly... I dunno how much $ I will have left for it after the following + labor:

'03 3.0L OvalPort ----------- $800 + gas $ (ported to SVT LIM)
LIM -------------------------- $50 Classifieds
Torsen ------------------- ~$640 after shipping
Trubends/magnaflow ------ $340 after shipping
MSDS ------------------- ~$720 after shipping (rip off?)
___________________~$2550 TOTAL B4 labor and misc parts K&N etc.
this is out of 6000 so I will have 3550 reamaining for torsen install/tranny-snycros/nice clutch/labor

Any Takers? Blackcoog said he would possibly do it but needs to learn more about the 95 deal.... I wish terry would just appear out of nowhere and be like.. "yeah...I'll do it" I need him to put new updated syncros in... I dont want my 3.0L shreading whats left of my 3rd gear.

Yeah you'd need a lot more money if you wanted Terry to do the swap. He is kinda spendy....

Yeah, Terry was slated to do all my work, but then I found out his timeline. (1 1/2 yrs at least for the motor build and tranny repairs.) Buckshot now has my engine and tranny sitting at his place. =) (Now, if I could just get the rest of the damn money...)
