A GSR or Type R block can still hang with anyone with a b20/vtec

Considering it's only .2 liters off in displacement, I sure hope so. The point of the B20/VTEC is that it makes more torque, so with traction, it will be a better setup. Not to mention more potential with a larger engine in general. I'm with 99Cougar in saying the only way I'll be happy driving a Honda is with a turbo.

dont get me wrong i would love to have a b-series civic or even maybe a single cam in a hatch(just to catch a few offguard!) but my ultimate goals would be to turbo it.

No single cam in a hatch. A B18 is what it needs whether it be the B18A,B,C1 or C5. I also always wanted a B17 so I could say "look what I got!". Good stuff. A 96-00 CX Hatch is factory listed at 2250 lbs.

the CX is the lightest of the bunch... and the baddest honda would be a built b18b 92 honda civic CX hatch with a turbo...

Jeez this is still going on? I swear.....Hondas STARTED the sportcompact scene. EVERYTHING under the sun has been done to them. To see a quick Honda is nothing new. In most cases a truly modified Honda Si, Prelude, etc or Acura RSX, Integra will beat a Contour and year any model. Why beat a dead horse?

It has turned into another discussion now that his question has been answered. And what is considered a "truly" modified Honda? A "truly" modified Contour can handle it's own, but only a few here have the money and will to do it.

1. More rpm doesn't mean squat. It's power to weight and the overall power curve.
The power to weight is close. A GSR is between an SE and SVT. Closer to the SVT.
The power curve favors ANY Duratec hands down. No shock there.

So the ability to rev vs. gearing doesnt hold any weight? Maybe Im Confused?

2. The secondaries are RPM activated. They will ALWAYS be open above 4100rpm. A shift drops the engine to about 5000rpm in the next gear.

Corrected I stand, but still doesnt seem to deter me from the thought of the higher revving motor. Especially with the power to weight ratio.

3. Verses what? A stock Duratec. I agree.
An SVT. No way! Compare the actual HP & TQ curves and you'll see exactly what I mean!

Also Japanese regular is about the same as our 85 octane rating. You are confusing octane rating systems. The US averages both octane ratings and doesn't just use the high rating.

Interesting, So They Take An Average Over The Whole Or What....I Was Always Led To Believe That The Fuel Was Of Far Better Quality.
