I've ridden in a friend's hatch with a gsr engine, seemed pretty mod friendly to me.
That's also a good 300+ lbs lighter than an Integra, clocking in at 2400 or less.....
I will stick by what I say and I see a few of you actually agree, a pre K series Honda motor is not very bolt on mod friendly. I don't know what you nay sayers think you know, but that's just jiffy. Once you get into internal swapping and FI, there's definitely potential. Hell, I would kill for an EG with a B18c1 turbo'd. The Civic Si uses the B16 not the B18, and the B18b is not VTEC powaa. The B18(a) and (b) are both DOHC, just not VTEC. the B18(c1) and (c5) are VTEC. The c5 is from the ITR. You guys obviously don't visit the track, where you'll see Civics, Integras, and CRXs running 16s all day and night. Then there are the few who actually know what they are doing, which I respect. The JDM (J-Spec ) counterparts aren't that much more special, it's just "trendy" to say you have JDM parts.

the b18c1 will still be in the top of second gear pulling when our svt's are nearing the middle of third before the secondaries are openned up again.
If you're racing correctly, the secondaries would be open the whole time. And the Integra would never leave VTEC. Iv'e never raced and shifted at 4k rpm, maybe that's why you lose to Integras....
Regarding the modding wars between the Civic Si and the Sentra SER. They are different machines. The Sentra is also displacing nearly a whole liter more than the Civic. The Civic's B16 is DOHC VTEC and is only 10 hp shy of the B18c1, it creams the B18b by 20 hp. The VQ25 might be a less efficient motor from the factory, hence modding frees up more power. The Honda motors are very efficient, boasting abnormally high specific output. So modding will not go over too well when it comes to bolt ons.
