Not oil starvation, rather the cat breaks apart and gets sucked into the engine. With a header, they are pretty reliable. My friend is on his third (IIRC) in his and now has a header. Other problem he had, the screws in the butterfly valves were loose, one came off and went into a cylinder, he had to get the broken spark plug out, but it didn't cause any real damage.
