a) for the love of god, wear a helmet. if you fall at any speed (especially in the dirt) and bonk your melon, you could be all done (think closed-head injury).

b) 125 dirt bikes don't do 80. their not geared for it.

no, they don't. 500's don't do 80 from the factory. the only dirt bikes that get up to that from the factory are the big 650 dual sports. thats it.

hey buddy, look at my screen name. not only have i raced motocross for years, i've managed three motorcycle dealerships and one professional race team. i think you may have taked one to many headers without a helmet.

yeah, geared properly, those things can cook. there are a ton of them on the dunes out here and they can get close to triple digit speeds.
