OP DJ Capp 911 Veteran CEG\'er D Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 709 DA BOOGIE DOWN	Can someone tell me what to expect when selling a car that I still owe money on? I owe 1900 and expect to sell the car for at least 4000. What is the best way to make the transaction? I was thinking making a 50% deposit upfront a stipulation of the sale so that I can overnight a check to pay it off and get the title. Anyone know how long it can take the bank (in this case, Ford Credit) to send me the title?

dallasb84 CEG\'er D Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 458	well chances are the person has been approved for the loan and doesnt have the cash. all you have to do is let both your banks talk and work it out. if its an svt hell prolly finacne it for 7 grand anyways and pocket two grand on the sale... but 50% is alot up front

Using the new owners money youll be paying back the bank loan of this car in full amount and get your title within a week or less. Then you send the title to the new owner by mail or in person. My advice to you is to try to make a profit outta this. My concern is that when someone buys a car, they want to be able to take delivery and register it right away usually. They won't be able to do that because I don't have the title. So the issue is getting them the title as fast as possible if I can't pay the car off before selling it

Either Ask for half of the money upfront and have the buyer wait for a few days or burrow the $1900 from your parents. Now I hate America? That is a new one to me.

When I had an Auto loan from Navy Federal Credit union they sent me the title to my MR2 before it was paid off with a signed letter saying i was selling and for how much.
