The smoking may have taken a year or two off your life, but certainly better than if you had kept smoking.
Smoking pot doesn't kill you the way cigarettes do. Smoking pot (a joint or a bowl) is comparable to smoking about 5 cigarettes (as far as the amount of tar in your lungs). No additives, etc. It hasn't been shown to cause lung cancer, or any kind of cancer for that matter, just a case of bronchitis. Furthermore, studies show that the effects of long term pot use on the brain have minimal effects (if at all) compared to the brains of non-smokers.
This study was probably done by marijuana advocates. Of course it's less dangerous than cigarettes (because cig smokers smoke more). But that's complete BS about it hasn't been shown to cause cancer. ANY smoke you inhale is going to be bad for you and eventually lead to cancer. And you're lying to yourself (or you're just already so baked you truly believe it) if you think cig smokers brains are worse off than weed smoker's brains.
Have you ever even smoked pot? Pot will do damage to your body, but anti-marijuana groups highly exagerate the harm as a scare tactic. You see, these people have never smoked pot, don't realize how overall harmless of a drug it is and want to dump their beliefs on everyone else. As far as saying "it will take a year or two off your life"...don't listen to that. 1) You don't know how long your life will be anyways. 2) Any number of factors could lead to your death - it's all luck of the draw. 3) Who the hell wants to be 90 anyways?
