thanks everyone, just what I wanted to hear.

as for the pyschological aspect, I know...mind over matter. trust me, I learned that much in cross country, it's a matter of how bad you want to succeed. with that said, my first run, I couldn't go any further. my lungs burned so bad that I really thought I was going to have an asthma attack (had asthma as a child...seeing as how i ran cross country, I'd say I pretty much outgrew it).

I went again today, been trying ot go every day...it seemed a bit easier. this may be due to a bit warmer weather, but it also may be that i haven't been smoking the past week or so...or a combination of the two. but that's one thing I love about exercise...once you start to see results, that's motivation in itself.
